Icms
Our opinion on the mobile cms
Icms a is free and simple CMS that you can install on your own server to create a website along with its mobile version on the basis of same contents (Responsive design). Like most of standalone CMS, Icms can be handled remotely by users from within their own web browser.
Equipped with a wysiwyg editors, Icms performs as good as its competitors as long as users merely use texts and illustrative pictures in their mobile websites. Moreover, although the web version of Icms based website doesn’t look very attractive, mobile version has nothing to envy to their non-free competitors. If one doesn’t take into account the install process, which is generally pretty tricky for any standalone CMS, Icms can be considered as one of the easiest-to-use mobile development software.
By cons, Icms is very limited both in terms of available features (i.e. modules amount) and in terms of design customization tools. Almost all functions generally required for the mobile web are missing (Click to call, Map, Social share, etc.) and the builder has only a single mobile template. This should not be a problem for professional users that can dig into code to create these features but it could be very disadvantageous for the ordinary users.
Summary
: Simple, free, Can be updated via smartphones, Can create simultaneously regular website and mobile website (responsive), Nice mobile template, Source codes available.
: Very few features, Need server management skills (CMS install, FTP, Database, etc.), No way to customize mobile design (unless you want to dig into the code)
